I've been using the BrewJacket during primary fermentation and it's been great keeping my beer at the set temperature. I'm moving into secondary fermentation and then cold crashing here in about a week. I searched the community and forums and did see that it's possible, however the responses stopped when the topic of burping the valve came up.
"Best way I've found is to remove the water blowoff tubing and install the check valve before dropping the temp. This way there will just be negative pressure inside the fermenter that is easily relieved by burping the valve." - aaron
I plan on doing exactly as suggested above, but can someone help clarify and give your best suggestion/recommendation on how to burp the valve while minimizing the risk of contamination?
Many thanks for any assistance you can provide.
