So, I ordered a brew jacket May 5th. I was told 2-3 weeks delivery time. Cool. Then I see that it was delayed (a day after I purchased), and no estimated time was given.
Next we are told that they need a new supplier for a part, and have to fly out to inspect said parts. Apparently BJ folks didn't get a surplus of parts produced to hold them over during the transition. When I was in the consumer electronics manufacturing business, getting a hold-over surplus was regular practice.
We were told shipping would happen end of June. That is a lot longer than 2-3 weeks, but fine.
Today I received an email. They are going back to the original manufacture, which they say was the cause of the original delays (if I read that correctly). No estimates given. No schedule determined.
I have the feeling that a lot of folks will be getting these units months down the line. I needed this during the hot months, and I figure I will get this unit by the time it's getting cold again by the track record I have seen. Hell, when I was looking at shipping time, there were lots of posts of people saying 2-3 weeks means 2-3 months.
I am not happy with how this is being handled, and from the updates it just seems that the folks running this production don't have things in order, as it seems previous customers also experienced severe delays.
BJ crew, do you have any idea when you will be able to give an update for a shipping time, one that you can actually commit to? I can not be the only one that is getting frustrated.
